Maratua Seaview Resort sits on the southern coast of Maratua Island, a 3-hour boat transfer from Tanjung Redeb — 90 minutes along the Kelai River, then across open water to the island. The Celebes Dive Centre is positioned at the jetty and can accommodate up to 30 divers.

Dive Facilities

Guests from the resorts can make use of the Celebes Dive Centre, a fully-equipped dive centre that can accommodate 30 divers. Located at the jetty, the centre is fully committed to promoting marine conservation and safe and sustainable diving for divers of all levels.

The resort's location provides access to different dive points, each offering amazing underwater scenery. Target dive sites around the resort include the Maratua Island known for its pristine beaches and beautiful coral reefs, the Kakaban Island known for its saltwater lakes populated by stingless jellyfishes, and Sangalaki Islands known as home to many manta rays that divers adore. The three islands are part of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, making them top destinations to underwater and nature lovers.

Stays of 5 nights or more include day trips to Kakaban Island (stingless jellyfish lake), Sangalaki Island (manta rays), and The Channel at no extra charge. The Tarakan route to the island requires a group charter — ask us if you are travelling from Malaysian Borneo and want to explore that option.

Our Rooms

Maratua Seaview Resort has three room types: The twin villa, garden villa, and seaview villa. All rooms are air conditioned and complete with hot and cold showers, blow dryers, and other amenities for your comfort.

The Twin Villas are semi-detached units with shared verandah best for large groups. A place for bonding, these villas are best shared by friends who love to catch up after a day of diving.

The Garden Villas are best for those who are looking for some quiet and comfort as these villas are located within the trees. Read a good book while enjoying a good drink on a quiet morning in your villa surrounded by the sound of nature.

The Seaview Villas offer a stunning view of the sea. These spacious villas are best for couples and families that are looking to relax after a whole day of fun water activities.
