Rates for Borneo Cottage Maratua

Three boat dives daily are included in all packages. Stays of 5 nights or more include trips to Kakaban Island, Sangalaki Island, and The Channel at no extra charge; shorter stays can add these sites at a per-boat surcharge. The group discount gives every eighth diver a free stay on packages of 6 days or more.

Travel period is from Thursday, 1 January 2026 to Thursday, 31 December 2026. The base currency for this resort is in USD US Dollar.

Bright and airy standard room featuring a comfortable double bed and traditional decor.

Standard

The quad complex consists of 4 rooms, two on the ground level and another two above it. These rooms are basic but clean and comfortable.

Group Discounts

For a stay of 6 days/5 nights or more, every eighth diver in your group gets to stay at no charge.

What is Included

  • 3 boat dives daily around Maratua Island except on arrival and departure days.
  • For a stay of 5 nights or more, 1 trip to Kakaban Island including 2 dives and snorkelling at the jellyfish lake during surface interval; 1 trip to Sangalaki Island including 2 dives; and 1 dive at The Channel (also known as Big Fish Country).
  • Air, weights and weight belt.
  • Accommodation is based on twin share.
  • All food and hot beverages are provided, excluding alcoholic drinks and carbonated soft drinks. Food is predominantly seafood.
  • Land and sea transfers between Tanjung Redeb and Maratua Island.

Additional Cost (For Stay of Less Than 5 Nights)

For stays of less than five nights, there is a surcharge to dive at The Channel, Kakaban Island and Sangalaki Island. If you stay 5 nights ore more, this additional cost does not apply to you.

The Channel

USD200 per boat (maximum 6 divers) with 1 dive.

Kakaban Island

USD200 per boat (maximum 6 divers) with 2 dives and snorkelling at the jellyfish lake during surface interval.

Sangalaki Island

USD300 per boat (maximum 6 pax) with 2 dives.

Talisayan — Whale Shark Experience

USD560 per boat.

Note: We can also assist with transfer arrangements via Tarakan for group at additional cost.

Notes

Entrance Fee to Kakaban Island

Rp50,000 per person to be paid separately in cash at the resort. This fee goes towards the local community volunteers who keep the area in good condition.

Entrance Fee to Sangalaki Island

Rp150,000 per person to be paid separately in cash at the resort.

Contribution — Talisayan Whale Shark Experience

Rp100,000 per person to be paid separately in cash at the resort.

Single travellers

Single supplement is 30% of the package price. There is also a surcharge for boat and land transfers based on minimum 2 person price if there is no one else going into and out of Borneo Cottage Maratua.

Children

Infants aged 0 to 3 sharing a room with parents stay free of charge, though transfers for infants are billed at the full adult rate. Children aged 4 to 12 sharing a room with parents receive 50% off the non-diver rate. Certified child divers can arrange individual dives at the resort on an ad hoc basis.
