The Only Liveaboard in Sipadan
MV Celebes Explorer 9 was commissioned on October 2019 and replaces the MV Celebes Explorer which has now been retired from service. This liveaboard is the only liveaboard operating in the area. This liveaboard spans 29 m in length and can travel up to 10 knots.
With fairly basic amenities, this liveaboard is a great fit for divers who don't mind forgoing a little luxury and focus on diving Sipadan Island every day. This liveaboard has 6 twin-bed cabins and 2 double-bed cabins, accommodating up to 16 guests.
Your Sipadan Permit Allocation
MV Celebes Explorer 9 carries permit allocation for all divers on board to dive Sipadan on every full day of the cruise, excluding arrival and departure days. If you want to dive Sipadan on your arrival day, a single-day permit can be purchased separately.
Facilities
MV Celebes Explorer 9 has the usual facilities geared towards divers. The tank filling station is located at the stern. The lounge and dining area is spacious and air-conditioned on the middle deck. Internet access is available in the lounge, but may not always be reliable.
